Dexter Jackson - Bio and Competition History

Dexter Jackson is an American IFBB professional bodybuilder also known as "The Blade" - a nickname that he got because of his lean and sharp physique. One of the things that put Dexter The Blade Jackson in the list of best bodybuilders is the fact that he has won more professional bodybuilding titles than any other bodybuilder in the history of the sport.

The first competition for Dexter Jackson was the NPC Southern States Championship of 1992, where he took the third place. After that, he competed professionally in the 1999 Arnold Classic, Night of Champions and Mr. Olympia contests.

The list of bodybuilding competitions where Dexter Jackson participated is very long, including local, national and regional competitions, Grand Prix and IFBB Pro events.

Some of Dexter Jackson's best strengths are his determination to succeed and his love for bodybuilding, both of which can be seen through the number of competitions he has competed in.

At the 2007 Mr. Olympia, The Blade was in top form. However, a lot of critics didn’t think the same and said that "he would not place any higher."

However, Dexter Jackson showed them the very opposite the next year, defeating the champion at the time (Jay Cutler) and becoming the 12th man to hold the Olympia title in his hands.

It is safe to say that 2008 was the best year for Jackson. This was the year where he won the Arnold Classic, the Australian Grand Prix VII, the New Zealand Grand Prix, The Russian Grand Prix, and obviously, the Mr. Olympia - the most prestigious bodybuilding contest of all time.

Despite all these wins, Jackson was still determined to push to the limits. In 2012, he placed 4th at the Mr. Olympia.

In 2015, Jackson showed that he still has what it takes to compete face to face with some of the legends of modern bodybuilding, placing 2nd at the Mr. Olympia> He surprised a lot of people with his highest placing after his win in 2008.

Jackson won the 2016 Mr. Olympia Europe competition, becoming one of the oldest bodybuilders to win an open IFBB pro show.

As of 2016, Jackson has won 28 IFBB professional bodybuilding which gives him the all-time best record. As of 2017, he also made a record-setting 18 appearances at the Mr. Olympia contest, being the most consistent bodybuilder to appear at major events.

He is also known as the record holder for Arnold Classic wins, winning the event five times and being only one of three bodybuilders that managed to win both the Arnold Classic and the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competitions.
