Banded Glute Bridge

The banded glute bridge lights up the glutes with resistance right where the muscle works hardest, at full hip extension. All you need is a band and the floor.

How to Perform

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat, and anchor the band across your hips (looped under something heavy, or held down).
  2. Brace your core and drive through your heels.
  3. Push your hips up until your body forms a straight line from knees to shoulders.
  4. Squeeze your glutes hard at the top against the band's tension.
  5. Lower under control and repeat without resting your hips on the floor.

Tips

  • Squeeze and hold the top for a beat; that is where the band fights hardest.
  • Push through your heels, not your toes, to keep the load on the glutes.
  • Keep your ribs down so you do not arch your lower back to finish the rep.
