Banded Overhead Press
The banded overhead press builds round, strong shoulders anywhere. Standing on the band and pressing overhead loads the delts and triceps with smooth, joint-friendly tension.
How to Perform
- Stand on the middle of the band with feet about shoulder-width apart, a handle in each hand at shoulder height.
- Brace your core and keep your ribs down so you do not arch your lower back.
- Press the handles straight overhead until your arms lock out, biceps near your ears.
- Lower under control back to shoulder height.
- Keep the pressing path vertical and your head moving slightly forward as the hands pass it.
Tips
- If it is too easy, widen your stance on the band or use a thicker band.
- Do not lean back to press; keep the torso tall and let the shoulders do the work.
- Pause briefly at the top where the tension is highest.
