Banded Triceps Pushdown

The banded triceps pushdown isolates the triceps with constant tension that peaks at full lockout, building the horseshoe on the back of the arm anywhere you can anchor a band.

How to Perform

  1. Anchor the band overhead, on a door frame or a bar.
  2. Grab the band or a handle with both hands, elbows pinned to your sides.
  3. Keeping your elbows still, extend your arms down until they are straight.
  4. Squeeze the triceps hard at the bottom.
  5. Let the band return under control, only moving at the elbow.

Tips

  • Only your forearms move; keep the upper arms locked to your sides.
  • Pause and squeeze at full extension where the tension is highest.
  • Step back from the anchor for more resistance.
