Neck Lateral Flexion
Lateral neck flexion trains the sides of the neck, building a complete, resilient neck that resists impact from any direction. Lying on your side with light resistance, you raise your head toward your shoulder.
How to Perform
- Lie on your side on a bench with your head hanging just off the end.
- Hold a light towel-wrapped plate against the side of your head, or start with no weight.
- Raise your head toward your top shoulder through a comfortable range.
- Pause, then lower slowly under control.
- Complete your reps, then switch sides.
Tips
- Keep the load very light to start; the sides of the neck are rarely trained.
- Move slowly and never force the range.
- Train both sides equally.
