Banded Squat to Press
The banded squat to press is a full-body movement that trains the legs, shoulders and core in one rep. It builds muscle and conditioning at the same time, which makes it perfect for home and travel.
How to Perform
- Stand on the middle of the band with the handles racked at your shoulders.
- Squat down until your thighs are about parallel, keeping your chest up.
- Drive through your feet to stand up, and use that momentum to press the handles overhead.
- Lock out the press at the top with your arms straight.
- Lower the handles back to your shoulders and flow into the next squat.
Tips
- Time the press to start as your legs finish driving up.
- Keep your core braced so you do not arch your back at the top.
- Slow down and separate the squat and press if you feel rushed or unstable.
