Banded Deadlift
The banded deadlift trains the whole posterior chain, hamstrings, glutes and back, with resistance that builds as you stand tall. It is a safe, scalable way to train the deadlift pattern at home.
How to Perform
- Stand on the middle of the band with feet hip-width apart, and grip a handle in each hand at your sides.
- Set your back flat, chest up, and hips back with a soft knee bend.
- Drive through the floor and extend your hips and knees to stand tall against the band.
- Squeeze your glutes at the top without leaning back.
- Push your hips back and lower under control to the start.
Tips
- Keep the band close to your body and your back flat throughout.
- The band is hardest at lockout, so finish each rep with a strong hip squeeze.
- Use a thicker band or stand on more of it to add resistance.
