Hip Flexor Stretch
Tight hip flexors from sitting round your posture and limit your squat and stride. This kneeling stretch opens the front of the hip, one of the most valuable stretches for anyone who sits a lot or trains legs.
How to Perform
- Kneel on one knee with the other foot planted in front, forming a 90 degree angle at both knees.
- Tuck your pelvis under slightly and brace your core.
- Gently push your hips forward until you feel a stretch in the front of the hip and thigh of the down leg.
- Hold, breathing steadily, without arching your lower back.
- Switch sides and repeat.
Tips
- Squeeze the glute of the down leg to deepen the stretch safely.
- Do not let your lower back arch; the stretch should be felt in the hip, not the spine.
- Hold each side for 30 to 45 seconds.
