Worlds Greatest Stretch
The world's greatest stretch earns its name by opening the hips, hamstrings, groin and upper back in one flowing movement. It is the single best full-body mobility drill to do before training or on its own.
How to Perform
- Step into a deep lunge with your right foot forward and hands on the floor inside the foot.
- Drop your right elbow toward the floor beside your right foot, feeling the hip and groin open.
- Rotate your right arm up toward the ceiling, opening your chest and upper back.
- Return your hand to the floor, straighten the front leg to stretch the hamstring, then step back.
- Repeat on the other side, moving slowly through each position.
Tips
- Move slowly and breathe into each position rather than bouncing.
- Keep your back knee off the floor for a deeper hip stretch, or down for an easier version.
- Do a few reps per side as part of your warm-up.
