Suspension Squat

The suspension squat lets you squat deep with perfect balance by using the straps for support, making it ideal for beginners learning the pattern or anyone training legs at home. It builds the quads and glutes through a full range.

How to Perform

  1. Set the straps to about chest height and hold a handle in each hand, arms extended.
  2. Stand facing the anchor with feet shoulder-width apart, letting the straps support your balance.
  3. Sit down and back into a squat until your thighs are at least parallel, keeping your chest up.
  4. Drive through your whole foot to stand, squeezing your glutes at the top.
  5. Use the straps only for balance, not to pull yourself up.

Tips

  • Let your legs do the work; the straps are for balance, not to haul you up.
  • Sit back into your heels and keep your knees tracking over your toes.
  • Slow the descent and pause at the bottom to make it harder.
